What Is Electromyography (EMG)?

Electromyography (EMG) is a specialized diagnostic test that evaluates nerve and muscle function.

EMG tests are an extension of the clinical neuromuscular exam and should be performed by a Board-Certified and Fellowship-trained physician such as Dr. Zaneteas, who has extensive postgraduate training in the evaluation of neuromuscular disorders.

Your physician may order an EMG if you are experiencing tingling, numbness, muscle weakness, or pain. The EMG can reveal nerve injuries such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, diseases manifested in muscle disorders, or diseases affecting the relationship between muscles and nerves.

You are welcome to request a non-binding, good faith estimate of the cost of your EMG.
